[Xen-users] Problems with VM migration on XCP
Hello all. When I try to migrate a VM using the function "xe vm-migrate" I get the error: You attempted an operation on a VM which requires PV drivers to be installed but drivers were not detected. After some research I tried do install Xen-Tools. Installed the pre-requesite packages, like make, debootstrap, perl and so on. Well, after all that, the migration stills trows the same error and the frontend (OpenXenManager) still says that there''s no Xen-Tools installed on the host. Some more info: I''ve installed a Debian Lenny distro using a template and specifying a folder over the network (I have a NFS storage). Sorry not so good English. Any help will be much appreciated. _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
Deborah, Grab the XCP Virtual Machine Installation Guide and check out page 27, Installing the Links Guest Agent ( I presume this is a Linux VM). Yeah, same thing here. xcp-vm-debian:/mnt/visostore/Linux# ls -la total 300 drwxrwxrwx 5 root root 4096 2010-10-04 19:38 . drwxrwxrwx 3 root root 4096 2010-10-04 19:38 .. drwxrwxrwx 2 root root 4096 2010-10-04 19:38 debian-etch drwxrwxrwx 2 root root 4096 2010-10-04 19:38 debian-lenny -rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15553 2010-10-04 19:38 install.sh drwxrwxrwx 2 root root 4096 2010-10-04 19:38 rhel4x -rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 148 2010-10-04 19:38 versions.deb -rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 246 2010-10-04 19:38 versions.rpm -rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 55672 2010-10-04 19:38 xe-guest-utilities_0.5.0-579_amd64.deb -rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 55688 2010-10-04 19:38 xe-guest-utilities_0.5.0-579_i386.deb -rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15435 2010-10-04 19:38 xe-guest-utilities-0.5.0-579.i386.rpm -rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15400 2010-10-04 19:38 xe-guest-utilities-0.5.0-579.x86_64.rpm -rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 50027 2010-10-04 19:38 xe-guest-utilities-xenstore-0.5.0-579.i386.rpm -rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 49990 2010-10-04 19:38 xe-guest-utilities-xenstore-0.5.0-579.x86_64.rpm -rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 7341 2010-10-04 19:38 xe-linux-distribution One thing to notice is that I copied the xs-tools.iso to my NFS storage server, then I "unziped" it on a folder (/visostore/xs-tools) on my NFS server, then I edited the /etc/fstab file on the VM I would like to install the xs-tools with the following line: 10.0.0.3:/visostore/xs-tools /mnt/visostore nfs noauto,users,exec 0 0 Then, every time I start the VM, I use the command mount /mnt/visostore 2010/10/6 Vern Burke <vburke@swiftwatertel.com>> Sounds like you might have a corrupted file (I''ve never had occaison to > use the 32 bit Debian package).
