Hi Guys, We are looking to get a new DELL server to host some more virtual machines and I thought I''d ask the list for advice on which dell server people think is the best. Also general memory, IO and cpu advice would help, as in RAID foo is bad but RAID bar is good. We were thinking base line 3 disks in a RAID 5, 8gb+ RAM and a couple of CPU''s. We are looking in the mid to lower end of the server range. I''m not familiar with Dell''s RAID offerings but I assume they have something like that. Rob, Are you contemplating buying Intel based or AMD based dell server? Any specific models that you have zeroed on? Hi Prateek, No not really I''m not sure it matters, price and performance are more important, we currently have some Dell PE 2950''s and the server we are looking to replace is a Dell PE 1950 which isn''t handling xen at all.
