Greetings all: Having watched the discussion about difficulty creating Ubuntu 10.04 virtual machines with Xen, I thought I''d throw in a note here that the new Ubuntu VM creator in Xen Cloud Control System with Xen Cloud Platform 0.5.0 creates 10.04 VMs just fine (I''ve got VMs running from both the server and desktop ISOs). The one gotcha is that the Ubuntu ISOs, unlike the CentOS ISO, don''t have all the required files to install from a local install repository. To make a working local install repository for Ubuntu: 1. Download the main ISO image and unpack where it''s reachable via HTTP. 2. Grab the 3 files from http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/lucid/main/installer-amd64/current/images/netboot/xen/ and put them in the same place under the unpacked ISO tree. That''s it, you now have a Ubuntu local install server that will work with XCP and XCCS. -- Vern Burke SwiftWater Telecom http://www.swiftwatertel.com Xen Cloud Control System http://www.xencloudcontrol.com _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

You have been and are continuing to share your experiences with us and save our time, effort and hair!
