Xen users - Jun 2010 - Ubuntu PV Netboot Installs

Hi All,

 

Does anyone know if it is possible to do netboot PV DomU installs of
Ubuntu Hardy, Jaunty and Karmic in both 32 and 64-bit? If so, where can
I grab the initrd/vmlinuz files?

 

I know I can use the debootstrap method, but would prefer a netboot
method.

Hi Mark,

 

I tried those. Lucid works fine (though I can’t boot with pygrub because
Xen 3.3’s pygrub doesn’t work with grub2). Karmic, Jaunty and Hardy
don’t work for PV guests. Jaunty’s netboot initrd/vmlinuz for example
cannot load the virtual NIC driver.

 

Anyone actually had success doing a netboot PV DomU install using these
exact netboot images?
