Just installed XCP 0.1.1 with verified media on an intel 64 bit dual core machine 8gb ram, local sata disks. installer boots fine and runs fine sees all hardware and installs great. when rebooting i see the cloud splash screen and about 10% of the status bar loads then eventually it goes to black screen similar to a redhat bootup and hangs after setting the hostname. it endlessly spits out: INFO: task nash: 5567 blocked for more than 120 seconds. "Echo 0 > /proc/sys/kernel/hung_task_timeout_secs" disables this message. cannot get past this and have tried installing and wiping disks 3 times now. any pointers welcome. _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

RE: [Xen-users] XCP: Will not boot after clean install
Under some circumstancens there’s some problem with the initrd’s nash which doesn’t quit clean. A questionable, but working solution is to: kill -9 `pidof nash` Just installed XCP 0.1.1 with verified media on an intel 64 bit dual core machine 8gb ram, local sata disks. installer boots fine and runs fine sees all hardware and installs great. when rebooting i see the cloud splash screen and about 10% of the status bar loads then eventually it goes to black screen similar to a redhat bootup and hangs after setting the hostname. it endlessly spits out: INFO: task nash: 5567 blocked for more than 120 seconds. RE: [Xen-users] XCP: Will not boot after clean install
I don’t exactly know the XCP architecture, but I assume it’s some kind of standard linux. If you’re unable to get the boot process finished, try to add this line at the top of /etc/rc.local In detail, boot with init=/bin/sh , mount your /etc/ containing partition read-write mount –o remount,rw / , edit the file, sync and reboot. As said, a cleaner solution would be to rework the initrd image instead of killing the nash process. i cant even login to the initial install or do anything, how would i do that? im not even to the point of installing or creating any vms.
