Xen users - Jan 2010 - not able to run vlc streaming b/w guests (display problem in guests)

Hi,

I want to test a streaming media between two guest domains. I am trying to
install vlc in the guest domains but because of display problem it is giving
this error

 [00000267] skins2 interface error: Cannot open display
[00000267] skins2 interface error: Cannot initialize OSFactory

why is it that display is not working in guest domains. guest domains are
dapper and xen version  is 3.1.3.( a bit old but i dont  think it is a
problem). Please help!
