Folks, We''re pleased to announce the official release of xen 3.0.4! This is largely an opportunistic stabilising release for HVM guests, due to the large amount of work in that area of the code since 3.0.3. These enhancements have in particular improved support for SMP and ACPI Linux and Windows operating systems. Other highlights of this release include: - support for kexec/kdump of Xen and domain 0; - graphical framebuffer support for paravirtualised guests; - preview support for the new XenAPI management interfaces; - enhanced support for IA64 (IPF) and Power systems. Since 3.0.4 is an interim release, certain features such as HVM save/restore will now be part of Xen 3.0.5 which we expect to release in early 2007. You can get the source using mercurial from: http://xenbits.xensource.com/xen-3.0.4-testing.hg Source and binary tarballs, and RPMs, will be made available from: http://www.xensource.com/downloads Cheers, Keir (on behalf of the whole Xen dev team) _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list Xen-devel@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-devel

Looks like the website still shows version 3.0.3. Was version 3.0.4 held back? Building, testing and publishing binary packages takes time. It¹s likely that the website won¹t be updated until the new year. -- Keir On 22/12/06 12:55 am, "Brian Hays" <brian.hays@gmail.com> wrote:> Looks like the website still shows version 3.0.3. I''m happily plaing with the sources from mercurial :) Looks like the info on building two kernels in the readme is wrong. I had no luck giving KERNELS= on the command line, but had to write KERNELS ?= ... in the makefile, as it was before 3.0.4, then ist works. Was this ever officially released? All the downloads on the xensource site seem to be still at 3.0.3 (even the source tarball). Was there an issue with 3.0.4 that caused it to be pulled back? I''m not involved with the packaging, but as far as I know the release has happened officially. But "hg clone http://xenbits.xensource.com/xen-3.0.4-testing.hg" well get the source, plus the latest fixes that are being tested (you can then use hg update to get the official release version from that tree, if you don''t want the extra patches... I''d recommened taking the fixes too). Presumably updating the packages has been held up due to Christmas / New Year break...
