[Xen-users] OpenSUSE and xen3 is far from being stable?
Hi, I tried running xen3 (binary install) from xensource.com on an OpenSUSE box and it doesn´t work: I can not create any domUs: "Error: Device 0 (vif) could not be connected. Hotplug scripts not working." Same problems with a clone of xen-unstable from today (8439) The xen rpms shipped from suse aren´t that stable too (7608-2) Questions Has anybody running a stable xen3 box on OpenSUSE10? And how stable is xen3 stable?? Thanks Dirk _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

I solved it with a script of mine and it is running smoothly. May be you should try it again, if you want some help with configuration - specially the internal network - I can show you some configs. I managed to get Garloffs rpms (7608) to work on 32 and 64 bit Opensuse 10.0. I am at the beginning of the tests and, until now, I did not experience any problem due to Xen or kernel. My only hard job til now is the understanding of the way Xen 3 does networking (what I already understood) and to prepare a script for covering the gaps in Xen networking scripts. That is done and now I am installing each server, and testing against the others and the networks. I am using OpenSUSE 10.0 and Garloff''s excellent rpms. -- Bye, Fernando Maior LPIC/1(31908) LinuxCounter(391325) _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

I used the ones shipped with OpenSUSE and updated them by yast to the same version as Kurt Garloffs rpms. I think xen or the rpms work for me but the problems are mostly bridging/network or block-device related. Perhaps you can help me out with your scripts? That would be great!
