Xen devel - Nov 2009 - PVOPS Build Failure: CONFIG_PCI_XEN flag not produced

The builds are failing after pulling yesterdays 11/10 pvops tree. It
appears that the CONFIG_PCI_XEN flag is not being produced by make
menuconfig.  

The build error is:

 

arch/x86/built-in.o: In function `pci_swiotlb_init'':

/root/kernels/linux-2.6-xen/arch/x86/kernel/pci-swiotlb.c:54: undefined
reference to `xen_wants_swiotlb''

make: *** [.tmp_vmlinux1] Error 1

 

Which should have been defined by:

drivers/pci/Makefile:31:obj-$(CONFIG_PCI_XEN) += xen-iommu.o

 

CONFIG_PCI_XEN does not get produced in the default .config file from
''make menuconfig''. 

 

I am performing the following build steps:

 

cd /usr/src/kernels 

git clone git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/jeremy/xen.git
linux-2.6-xen 

cd linux-2.6-xen 

git checkout origin/xen-tip/master -b xen-tip/master 

make menuconfig 

make 

make modules_install install 

 

Suggestions? Workarounds?

You are getting the wrong branch (what instructions pointed you to use the
xen-tip/master?)

It should be origin/xen/master, not xen-tip/master
