[Xen-devel] Consideration of cpu-processing in domain-0 by credit scheduler
Hi, I have come across many papers related to cpu sharing (and also specifying cpu limits) between guest domains taking into account the cpu-processing in domain-0 for the corresponding guest domains. But in most of such papers SEDF scheduler or its variation was being used . No work on ''credit scheduler'' was found in this regard. Is there already some work done(or even going on) that I have missed or is there something in credit scheduler which by default takes into consideration the cpu-processing in the domain-0 when we specify weights and cap of different guest domains? Thanks Mathew _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list Xen-devel@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-devel

Re: [Xen-devel] Consideration of cpu-processing in domain-0 by credit scheduler
At the moment, there is no consideration of work done in dom0 on behalf of a guest domain, and no work planned as of yet. Long-term, the plan is to use stub domains, and potentially have some kind of "co-scheduling", where work done in the stub domain is counted as part of the guest VM. That still doesn''t account for work done in back-end drivers, of course. -George On Mon, Sep 28, 2009 at 4:43 AM, Kuriakose Mathew <kmathew123@gmail.com> wrote:> Hi, > > I have come across many papers related to cpu sharing (and also specifying > cpu limits) between guest domains taking into account the cpu-processing in > domain-0 for the corresponding guest domains.
