Citrix Project Satori is the result of a collaborative agreement between XenSource and Microsoft, and was carried forward after XenSource was acquired by Citrix Systems. The base Satori components are released by Microsoft as the Linux Integration Components for Hyper-V, and provide support for paravirtualized XenLinux guests running on Hyper-V. The Linux Integration Components can be downloaded here<http://connect.microsoft.com/>. The complete source code and license information (GPL version 2) on this project is now available at http://www.xen.org/download/satori.html. I downloaded the Linuc IC''s from the Microsoft site https://connect.microsoft.com/Downloads/DownloadDetails.aspx?SiteID=495 <https://connect.microsoft.com/Downloads/DownloadDetails.aspx?SiteID=495&Dow nloadID=17069> &DownloadID=17069 but the file is an EXE file which windows does not recognize. [Xen-users] RE: [Xen-devel] Annoucing Citrix Project Satori
The Linux IC D/L from MSFT is a self-extracting .EXE, and must be run on a 64 bit instance of Windows (ie run it on your Hyper-V host). After it extracts you''ll get a readme PDF with installation instructions and an .ISO file containing the actual Linux IC bits that can be attached to a Hyper-V VM''s virtual DVD drive. <might also be worth noting that support for the Linux ICs is provided by MSFT via the ''Newsgroups'' link within the Linux IC project on connect.microsoft.com> From: Venefax [mailto:venefax@gmail.com] Sent: Tuesday, March 24, 2009 8:31 AM To: Stephen Spector; xen-users@lists.xensource.com; xen-community@lists.xensource.com; xen-devel@lists.xensource.com Subject: RE: [Xen-devel] Annoucing Citrix Project Satori I downloaded the Linuc IC''s from the Microsoft site https://connect.microsoft.com/Downloads/DownloadDetails.aspx?SiteID=495&DownloadID=17069 but the file is an EXE file which windows does not recognize.
