wine users - Apr 2012 - Rybka: err:gdi:alloc_gdi_handle out of GDI object handles

When using Rybka (chess application) with Wine1.2, it runs perfectly for several
minutes.  But then after a seemingly random amount of time, the fonts in the
program change then there is a Program Error. It is easy to then kill the
application.  Sometimes this takes half an hour to occur and other times it
takes 2 minutes and I can find no actual cause.

Terminal output reveals a lot of this during the crash:

err:gdi:alloc_gdi_handle out of GDI object handles, expect a crash

It seems others have this problem with other games.

Is there a known solution and what is causing the problem?

That version is almost two years old and no longer supported. Upgrade to the
latest development release.
