wine users - Apr 2012 - Steam games won't launch

Every time I try to launch a steam game, it says "this game is currently
unavailable".
Why?

try deleting your wineprefix folder (obviously with steam installed else where)
and delete 'ClientRegistry.blob' in the steam folder.
