wine users - Nov 2009 - ArcGis winexec error

Very new to Ubuntu and Wine, I'm attempting to get Arcgis ver 9.3(arcview)
to run on Macbook pro, using Unbuntu and wine.  When installing Arcgis, I
receive error that winexec must close.
What is this and how should I proceed?
