Running WINE 1.1.29 in KDE 4.3.2 in Slackware64-13. The version or OS is really not important as I've never been able to get sound to work in Powerpoint. Sound works in other applications running in WINE, e.g., WinAmp (audio, but no video), but not with Powerpoint from ms-office 2003 or the Powerpoint Viewer 2007. Is there a "switch" that needs to be "thrown" or is this a known problem. Many Thanks.
Try to run it in a terminal to see any related output. 2009/10/19 C. Wizard <wineforum-user at winehq.org>> Running WINE 1.1.29 in KDE 4.3.2 in Slackware64-13. Oh, I did, but the output might as well be written in Greek. Means little to nothing to me. What should I be looking for? Thanks.
Can you pastebin it on any website so we can have a look at the output? 2009/10/19 C. Wizard <wineforum-user at winehq.org>> Oh, I did, but the output might as well be written in Greek. Powerpoint's own sound effects should work fine, but there is a known problem with inserted mp3s. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17446 http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17447

I've looked through the XP installation on another partition, but no luck. I've looked around the 'Net and haven't found it yet. Did stumble across something about renaming lame and using it. Thanks, again.
