I've been using Wine on 10.6 with no problems until the other day when I tried to update (from a very early version) to a more recent version that was more like the ones in CrossOver. When I tried to update it gave me a hard time so I uninstalled and decided to do a new fresh install. Uninstall was fine then installing MacPorts was just as good - even having a 10.6 version of the installer. When it came to install Wine I got this: Code: ComputerName:~ dan$ sudo port install wine Password: ---> Computing dependencies for wine ---> Fetching wine Error: wine 1.0.1 is not compatible with Mac OS X 10.6 or later. Until wine 1.2 is released, please install wine-devel instead. Error: Target org.macports.fetch returned: incompatible Mac OS X version Error: Status 1 encountered during processing. I then tried to install wine-devel and wasn't sure what i was doing. Is this what I have to do to get it running on 10.6 or is there a way to install a normal version of wine? Cheers for you time

Also, I'm glad that MacPorts has decided to abandon this very old version of Wine. James McKenzie
After spending ages running in circles: Is this how to install devel on Mac? http://wine-devel.darwinports.com/
