Hello everyone, I am in the process of adapting my app so it runs well on WINE. My app creates an icon in the system tray on Windows (via the Shell_NotifyIcon API) and it sometimes starts a child process that itself creates another icon in the system tray. It typically starts during interactive user login. So I configured a system with Ubuntu 8.04 (and GNOME) to automatically start my app immediately after user login, the WINE version is 1.1.22. Now sometimes after user login, a small floating toolbar-like window appears that reads "WINE system tray" in its caption with my app's icon in it. Sometimes my icon instead appears in the topmost panel. And sometimes my icon either doesn't appear at all or the small "WINE system tray" window is invisible, I can't tell. And sometimes, while my app's icon is in the small floating "WINE system tray" window, the icon of its child process is visible in the top panel. And sometimes, both apps' icons are visible in the top panel. As you can see, the behaviour seems to be rather erratic. Can someone tell me what to do to reliably have my app's and its child process' icon displayed in the top panel much like in the systray on Windows? TIA, -- Stefan
