Hi I'm using DarWine, the Kronenberg package and I've tried to install FIFA09. I did everything as instructed, typed in my cd-key, had it install in the C Drive. After installation though, I couldn't find the FIFA09 nor the EA Sports folder anywhere. There was, though, a shortcut on my desktop. Upon running the application from the shortcut, I got a message saying "FIFA09.exe has closed due to an error", and this on my Wine console:> fixme:ntdll:NtQueryInformationProcess (0xffffffff,info_class=34,0x239a3f0,0x00000004,0x239a3ec) Unknown information class > fixme:ntdll:NtQuerySystemInformation info_class SYSTEM_HANDLE_INFORMATION > fixme:ntdll:NtQueryObject Unsupported information class 3 > fixme:debugstr:CheckRemoteDebuggerPresent (0xffffffff)->(0x23992dc): Stub! > fixme:d3d:IWineD3DImpl_FillGLCaps OpenGL implementation supports 16 vertex samplers and 16 total samplers > fixme:d3d:IWineD3DImpl_FillGLCaps Expected vertex samplers + MAX_TEXTURES(=8) > combined_samplers > wine: Unhandled exception 0x80000004 at address 0x0 (thread 0009), starting debugger... > 0x00000000: -- no code accessible -- > Modules: > Module Address Debug info Name (23 modules) > PE 400000- 1eae000 Deferred fifa09 > PE 10000000-1004f000 Deferred dirtysock > PE 60150000-60154000 Deferred d3d9 > PE 60190000-60194000 Deferred advapi32 > PE 60580000-60595000 Deferred user32 > PE 60720000-60724000 Deferred gdi32 > PE 619d0000-619d4000 Deferred ddraw > PE 61a50000-61a54000 Deferred ole32 > PE 61bd0000-61bd4000 Deferred rpcrt4 > PE 61ce0000-61ce4000 Deferred dsound > PE 61d50000-61d9d000 Deferred winmm > PE 61df0000-61df4000 Deferred wsock32 > PE 61e10000-61e14000 Deferred ws2_32 > PE 61ed0000-61ed3000 Deferred sensapi > PE 61ee0000-61ee4000 Deferred oleaut32 > PE 62020000-620af000 Deferred shell32 > PE 62190000-62196000 Deferred shlwapi > PE 62210000-62222000 Deferred comctl32 > PE 62320000-62324000 Deferred version > PE 62e80000-62e84000 Deferred opengl32 > PE 7b810000-7b889000 Deferred kernel32 > PE 7bc10000-7bc14000 Deferred ntdll > PE 7c360000-7c3b6000 Deferred msvcr71 > Threads: > process tid prio (all id:s are in hex) > 00000008 (D) I:\FIFA09.exe > 00000017 0 > 00000009 0 <=> 0000000c > 00000014 0 > 00000013 0 > 00000012 0 > 0000000e 0 > 0000000d 0 > 0000000f > 00000016 0 > 00000015 0 > 00000011 0 > 00000010 0 > 00000022 > 00000023 0 > Backtrace: > =>1 0x00000000 (0x02398ff8) > 2 0x6047e103 (0x023994b8) > 3 0x6052424f (0x02399518) > 4 0x6015d966 (0x02399578) > 5 0x017a7dc6 in fifa09 (+0x13a7dc6) (0x023995cc) > 6 0x017a8206 in fifa09 (+0x13a8206) (0x0239ac0c) > 7 0x015cf51e in fifa09 (+0x11cf51e) (0x023af954) > 8 0x013d7289 in fifa09 (+0xfd7289) (0x023afdfc) > 9 0x023afe18 (0x023afe18)May I also note that I am thus unable to uninstall FIFA09 and do a reinstall because the computer keep thinking I have FIFA09 installed. I have tried removing the registry data in regedit, but nothing works and running the uninstall program doesn't work either. I'm using a Mac OSX 10.5.6. Any help would much appreciated! So does no one know anything about this issue?

Yes, the folks at the MacOSXForge's XQuartz project are aware of this as it breaks attempts to create native ports of games for the Mac, as well as breaking Wine's OpenGL implementation. It is stated they may have fixed this with the next release of XQuartz, 2.3.3, but this version is in release testing and problems appeared. As to the release date of the program, I do not have any idea and when it is released, Wine for MacOSX will have to be rebuilt specifically for it. James McKenzie

Sorry I'm new to my Mac so I have no idea what's going on half the time javascript:emoticon(':?')

The current versions of Wine for MacOSX do not have OpenGL functionality included due to the broken implementation of OpenGL in Apple's X11. You can use either Fink or MacPorts to build your own Wine which may include OpenGL. Until this release is in the General Availability stage, it would not be a good idea to build a downloadable version with OpenGL functions built in. James McKenzie

I would suggest that you contact their forums to have this corrected. I don't want to install a release test version of XQuartz on my MacBook at this time so I cannot confirm if this is true with Mike Kronenberg's build environment. I can, however, look at the configure log from my last build and see if it is. James McKenzie
