Hello all, I've been struggling for a while now to get World of Warcraft running under wine, and there's lots of helpful information out there, but nothing seems to address the particular problem that I am having. Rather than try to explain it to you, it would be easier just to show you a screenshot: http://www.maj.com/gallery/servo/00-BitBucket/wow-opengl.png In a nutshell, the toons and certain items in the world look fine, but the world itself is too dark, at least in some locations. I have tried adjusting the gamma settings in the Config.wtf file, but they seem to have no effect. The second problem that I have is that the minimap doesn't work, but I understand that there may be no fix for this. Anyone have any clues? Software: The latest Ubuntu Wine 0.9.52 from winehq.org Hardware: Acer Aspire 9410z Intel 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML Express video controller I have actually had to go and install Windows on my perfect little linux-only laptop just to be able to play, and that makes me sad. Thanks, Michael

I assume you have already checked to be sure you have the latest stable drivers for your graphics card, I have no experience with Intel graphics cards but that does seem to be a common starting place with graphics problems in general. When you start WoW are you forcing it to run in opengl? Most linux systems have trouble with the default format and improve greatly in opengl. What version of windows is your wine set to? Try changing it between XP and 98 and see if either makes a difference. We set it at XP, but have had to switch to 98 to get updates to apply at times and I've seen forum posts of people saying they get better performance on their hardware in 98. Sorry if that is all stuff you have already tried or doesn't help. Tricia wine 9.47 Ubuntu Dapper/FC6

You could try Version 0.9.51 or compile the CVS/GIT version of wine. Stefan
