wine users - Oct 2007 - How to install .NET ?

Hi,

I know .NET doesn't work under wine, but I just want to have a way to
install it without running it - I's like to install Sony Vegas 8 (a
video editor) under wine, and it tries to install dotnetfx3.exe but
fails.

Anyone knows how to make that work ?

You can Install mono (win32-version).

.Net 3 is Vista (or the Backport for XP)

Mono is similar to .Net 1.1

Try it and fill Bugs. That might help

What if it doesn't checks for .NET's availability, but it just forces
its
install? I've had plenty of programs and games that force a DirectX or EAX
install even if it's already installed (take a look at it from the
developer's eyes: It'd be better to make it install anyways and avoid
the
customer tell you that it didn't work when they didn't had the needed
dependencies installed).
