Hi. I am trying to run Dreamweaver MX 2004 on wine. During installation, it complains about the absence of Microsoft Foundation Classes. Ignoring the warning, the installation completes, but, when trying to run the program, wine exits silently with exit status 206. If I try to install Microsoft Foundation Classes through winetools, winetools fails silently. So: 1) Is there a known way to run Dreamweaver MX 2004 on wine? 2) Is there a known way to install Microsoft Foundation Classes? 3) Is winetools still recommended? About question 3: something that annoys me about wine is that the way to use it changes all the time. There was a time that sidenet was the way to go, later Winetools. Nowadays I don't know if Winetoos is still the way to go. Also, should I install DCOM98? IE6? This things also vary with time. In one Wine release it is told that DCOM98 is good, in the other it is told that it is unnecessary. Since this varies so fast, a Google search is unlikely to provide answers. I think that these things should feature preeminently on the winehq site. -- Software is like sex: it is better when it is free. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
