The installer finishes ok, and places all the files in Program Files/Internet Explorer. However this still doesn't allow the running of Internet Explorer. When you iexplore.exe, it still uses the built in iexplore, which depends on the Mozilla control being present. The inseng.dll method seems to be the solution for getting the setup working, but is still not a solution for getting Internet Explorer working (unlike the method I posted, which works completely). That doesn't mean it'll run, but at least it won't run the builtin version of iexplore and you'll get a chance to have debugging infos in your console. I have iexplore.exe set to native in winecfg. Send instant messages to your online friends http://uk.messenger.yahoo.com
Hi Luke, Have you followed the steps described at the bug: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3950 If so, the buitin/internal iexplore.exe (or in that case: user.exe) will not be called (unless there is not an external one!) I'd tried both as well just to make sure anyway. I also thought it may be a capitalisation issue, as the installed iexplore.exe was in upper case (IEXPLORE.EXE), but changing it down didn't help. Yes that is the same method as I am using with iexplore.exe, but it is still running the builtin version. Send instant messages to your online friends http://uk.messenger.yahoo.com

If yes, can you copy paste the command and the results ? Thanks -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... IE6 installed fine with the inseng.dll in the system32 directory, but no matter how I try to start it all I get is the internal explorer. Even with the fix given in bug 3950. Anyone have any other ideas? Thanks, Rick Knight
