Hello everybody, I know there are many HOWTOs out there about installing IE6, but none seem to mention the problem I have. The installation of IE6 doesn't go beyond the window: "Setup was unable to download the required components. Please make sure you are connected to the internet or try to run Setup later again" Trying to set wininet to "native" or "builtin"

To install IE6 with the latest wine, you have to copy a native inseng.dll to .wine/drive_c/windows/system32, then run ie6setup.exe with native advpack like so: WINEDLLOVERRIDES=advpack=n wine ie6setup.exe Wine's advpack is being implemented, and the setup should work without native advpack by the next release (hopefully.) -- James Hawkins

Hi, some time ago (around 7. May 2006) there was a coment in the App DB to get the setup of Internet Explorer 6 working. The Coment was about removing some dll names from the wine.inf file. The coment was removed from the App DB, but the setup still fails for me with current cvs (~2 hours ago). Therefore i like two know two things: - does anyone remember which lines needs to be removed

When you iexplore.exe, it still uses the built in iexplore, which depends on the Mozilla control being present. The inseng.dll method seems to be the solution for getting the setup working, but is still not a solution for getting Internet Explorer working (unlike the method I posted, which works completely). Hi, I used some time ago the winetools package to configure wine older than 0.9.10 with IE6 and Office 2000. Updates of wine up to 0.9.10 where also succesful, so that I was able to continue the usage of MS Office2000. But since the Desktop changes in wine 0.9.11, 0.9.12 the old installation does no more work. ## My experiements to install IE6 and Office 2000 without winetools are not yet

Hello, I built wine-0.9.15 today. It installs and works to a small extent that I tested it. I then attempted to install and run winetools and had some problems.
