to help you, we need more information:
how did you try to install office (shell commands...)?
what error message did you get?
does wine start (i.e. wine--version or wine notepad)?
did you install dcom?

BTW: I think somebody else reported that he had problems with office and 
wine-20041201. maybe you should try wine-20041019.
