wine users - Oct 2004 - Compiles on Slackware 8

I've been using Slackware for a decade or so - pretty much
since it came out. The question is:

Has anyone been able to get any verson of WINE to compile and
run on Slackware 8?

If yes - then the obvious: which release?

It looks like 20030408 may have been the last package I made for
Slackware 8.

That should give you a starting point.
