Hi, I cannot install dcom98 with wine 20030508. I see message " a newer version of DCOM95 or DCOM98 had been installed...". Does this mean wine doesn't need dcom installation ? I'm runing wine in LM 9.0 with fake windows. I installed 50comupd.exe without a problem.TIA Ozkan

When you get the error message don't click 'yes' but open a new terminal window and go to wine's temp directory. There you will find a directory called IPX000.TMP. Copy all the files in that directory to the system directory of your fake windows drive." That should work.
Use the following command: wine dcom98.exe /c The '/c' switch tells the Windows executable just to extract the files. You will be prompted where to extract them. Specify 'c:\windows\system' and you'll be all set. Regards, Andy. On Tue, 2003-05-27 at 13:32, Ozkan Taskiran wrote:> Hi, > > I cannot install dcom98 with wine 20030508.
