I managed to update my CVS tree, but not by the method described on http://www.winehq.com/devstart.shtml, that is export CVSROOT=:pserver:cvs@cvs.winehq.com:/home/wine cvs login cvs update -PAd but rather by doing this cvs -d CVSROOT=:pserver:cvs@cvs.winehq.com:/home/wine login cvs -d CVSROOT=:pserver:cvs@cvs.winehq.com:/home/wine update -PAd which, if the documentation has anything to say, is the same. And yes, echo $CVSROOT reports the correct server (winehq.com). Same thing also works seamlessly for rhlx01.fht-esslingen.de. Can somebody please explain? (or point me to a group that discusses CVS matters as I'm new to this. And silly me thought VSS was difficult to maintain...)

Can somebody please explain?-d xxx overrides CVS/Root files. CVS/Root files overrides the CVSROOT environment variable. This probably means that you *still* have that broken cvs tree, *still* need to change CVS/Root in all subdirectories, and *still* needs to complain to Andi...
Best release for which game: Howdy! I wonder which release I should use for these programs ( I have listed which one I know worx good )? StarCraft - Wine-20011004, works great. No loss in graphic speed or DX mouse grab or anything...perfect. Almost all the releases I have tried (including transgaming) slows StarCraft down...but this one and the latest codeweaver doesnt (codeweavers however screws up the DX mouse grabbing). Commandos 2 - Tried the latest 20011108. Worked better then most but still loss of speed for mouse and generally slow. Lighwave 7 - Almost any release works fine Civilization 3 - dont know yet... Please gimme (and others) your point of view. kind regards /alex
