wine users - Feb 2001 - Mostly black images in childrens' games

Hi,

trying to run Big Action Construction from Fischer Price, Learner Rabbit and the
Snowman
and although all three start properly and respond to commands, most of
the actual images on the screen are virtually all dark (occasionally an
image comes on screen fine, but the next one (part of an animation?) is
black again)

I'm using an up-to-the minute version of Wine.  Anybody else experienced
the same?  What else could I post here to help those who can help me?
