At first I was excited because the VP5 samples showed pretty decen
quality/bit. But then I noticed it was VP3.2 ;)
One question: what about ffmpeg's libavcodec? Their MPEG-4
implementation is very good, much better than DivX4/5 and probably
comparable to VP5. Perhaps their code is something that could be
adapted? I don't know if it's covered by other patents, but perhaps it
can be modified to output non-MPEG-4 streams while retaining the
quality.
