customflags considered a folder?
...gs file for
some reason. I googled and only found one person who had seen something
similar, but no solution.
This is with dovecot 0.99.10.5. Similarly, 'customflags' does show up as a
folder when using mutt.
How would I go about preventing this problem?
Thanks!

krb5 + samba config
Hi,
my W2K clients and users are authenticated by a native MIT Kerberos-V5
KDC, that is they get tickets and TGT, while user data are stored in
an openldap directory. I use samba-3.0alpha21 which is still requiring
userpasswords beeing stored in the DIT, although i have following
directives in smb.conf
realm = MY.REALM
security = ads
smb ist still not requiring and accepting tickets from KDC. How

Very strange problem with profiles

track of the source/destination/move relationship of the file.
How can modifying a file in one folder make Windows not download a file in
another folder? After all, just because it's konceptually the same file,
Windows doesn't know that.
Thanks,

Win2K isn't supposed to work, right?
...of samba does support Win2K-clients in their domain,
and which one of those (if there are several) is the most stable?
I realize the alpha-stage code is not to be considered as stable as 2.0.x,
but I'd like to know whether I can get it working with 2K at all.
Thank you,

Write to ext3 fs -> kjournald goes bananas
...onsuming CPU cycles like mad.
When the write to the file is paused, the problem immediately goes away,
and then resurfaces.
This is on a 2.4.19 kernel.
Is this a known problem with ext3fs? Granted, we cannot be sure ext3fs
is involved, but it's a pretty good bet it is.

Matroska as an alternative to Ogg (container)
...its way too.
Also, correct me if I'm wrong, it is my understanding that while 5.1 sound is
theoretically supported, actual practical support is non-existent because
there is no agreed-upon way to identify the channels. I'm guessing this is
addressed by matroska.

rsyncing very large files - extremely slow at end

Is it supposed to be possible to syncornize files this large at normal

Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Samba server identify
...at it's the same server! As a result it goes nuts trying to use the
profile.
We are not working on manually re-initializing everyone's profile and
selectively copying stuff over.
What could we be missing it not machine.sid/secrets.tld?
This is samba 2.2.4.
Thanks,

Logon script never runs in 2.2.7a, but does in 2.2.4
...ogon scripts to never run.
That is, we have 2.2.4 installed and the logon procedure works
perfectly. We then upgrade the samba/samba-common (debian) packages, and
everything works *except* that logon scripts never run.
What are the possible causes for such a thing?
Thanks!

Solved: Login script doesn't run
...location of secrets.tdb changed somewhere around 2.2.5. When
I copied the up-to-date version of secrets.tdb to /var/lib/samba (from
/etc/samba), the login script ran.
(If someone knows what's stored in secrets.tdb that would have this effect,
I'd love to know...)

Hai!
I'm from Hungary, and my English is not so good. Excuse me! I'm
using Linux Debian woody, with kernel 2.4.18
Now I try to encode my music files, that are in .wav format to .ogg

Hello-
I recently downloaded Verbs and started playing with the encoder. The
quality was great when I encoded a few samples at medium and high bitrates,
but when trying to encode the same clips at 16 kbps, artifacts are audible
during playback- short bursts of screeching noise, not just distortion. I'm
using oggenc 1.0 beta 4 to encode, sonique to play back on Windows NT. I've
