Ogg in my car
I hope this hasn't already been mentioned on the list or I'll kind of look stupid... The Ogg Developers may already be aware of this, but I thought this would be news for most of the people who subscribe to this list. I saw this on NewsForge where they referenced an article from MP3Newswire.net The article is about Kenwood announcing a digital music system for cars that supports Ogg Vorbis. Read more about it here : http://www.mp3newswire.net/stories/2002/musickeg.html --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg...

Shorwall with Snort inline, question.
Question to the list, Has anyone here had experience using Shorewall (multi-isp configuration) with Snort inline? First, is this possible? Second, if anyone has done this, what documentation, if any did they use to set it up? Third, does snort have to run inline on a firewall (I''m under the impression it does)?

memory error?
I have just noticed this message in my kernel logs, reporting the possibility of an error with my memory. This would go a long way towards explaining the problems i''ve been having. This particular error is occuring when i''m not running xen so is obviously not something brought on by xen itself. The strange thing is that the NMI error is always followed by the TLAN: eth0: Adaptor

Idmap_rid differs on FreeBSD and SLES!
Hi, I'm trying to setup some servers with Samba and Winbind. One of the servers are both a Samba server and a NFS server so I want to have the same ID:s on the files that I export with NFS. All users are all in one AD domain. The problem is that the Samba/NFS server are running SLES 10 and the others are running FreeBSD 6.2 and they get different UID:s and GID:s. All the FreeBSD servers are

does SSH.COM really in fact approve of the generic meaning of "SSH"?
I hate to open up a discussion that may already be closed (I haven't really followed the trademark dispute other than via the postings to NewsForge, and in particular the one on March 7), and I can't find on www.openssh.com an obviously more appropriate address to send this thought to, so.... Heartbeat and secrets.tdb
I'm configuring a HA-cluster to share disks using heartbeat from http://www.linux-ha.org/ Two machines, lets call them server1 and server2 share the same disk with an ocfs2 file system. However, the two machines have separate disks for their OS installations. The two physical servers have two gigabit nics each and on those nics I place four virtual IP addresses which heartbeat makes sure is
