Hello, I'm curious, what Ogg and Vorbis stand for? I run a mailing list for my customers here, and I've made a commentary on Ogg/Vorbis a few days ago, someone ask me the meaning of those words. Vorbis is a lossy audio codec. It is almost always stored inside an Ogg bitstream. Some day, you'll be able to get Ogg movies, which will just be a Tarkin (video) substream and a Vorbis (audio) substream multiplexed into the same Ogg file. (And maybe subtitles in a text stream yet to be defined.) --- Stan Seibert

--- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'vorbis-request@xiph.org' containing only the word 'unsubscribe' in the body.
