Vorbis - May 2001 - AW: Choosing a processor

Hi,
if it comes to mp3... my 'old' Duron-700 delivers a rip-and-encode
performance six (6!) times faster then 'single speed' (bladeEnc 0.94.2).
So
take the cheapest Duron box available, and you will be happy, for real small
money.

Hi Friedrich,

Thank you for letting me know; I just sent to the list a question concerning 
precisely this. In the list archives there are references to AMD's chips 
being more "appropriate" for .ogg (de)encoding than the PIII...
