Winamp 2.80 Vorbis problem confirmed on my comp
I first downloaded Winamp Lite, which did not have Vorbis plugin, and installed the latest PP Vorbis plugin: http://www.blorp.com/~peter/zips/in_vorbis.exe That did not work, for some reason. Afterwards, I downloaded the Standard version and tried playing ogg files: it didn't work either. I installed the latest PP Vorbis plugin over this version, but still the same. What's up?? I

Ogg Vorbis ripping/encoding on Windows
I think the new web page is wonderful. However, one thing annoyed me. Some programs on 'Other Software Which Supports Ogg Vorbis' page at Vorbis.com seems to be bit problematic. As far as I know, at least two of them have not updated their plug-ins for a while. 1. 'CD-DA X-Tractor' vorbenc-20001018.zip as 'Latest released version of vorb_enc.dll' 2. 'Media

Vorbis support in Winamp
I would like you guys to test the latest version of my plug-in: http://www.blorp.com/~peter/zips/in_vorbis.zip This one is considered the final version and there are no known bugs in it, but you might be able to find some. quick notes: * HTTP seeking is as slow as hell, don't use it. * UTF8 stuff should (finally) work correctly now. -Peter PS. Better genre editor user IS being worked on.

WinAmp plug-in based on RC1?
Hi, I just downloaded this and it says it's based on RC1 in the about box. Is that a typo or is the plug-in not updated? Winamp plugin installation
Okay, this is a nitpick but I gotta do it. First the background: I'm trying to convince a diehard mp3 coworker of mine to use ogg for his personal project along side of mp3 and having a tough time. His gripe is that the default players all support mp3 (Winamp and wma) but not ogg and that his listeners won't want to go out and install it. We have now set up a huge shared drive on the

Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder v1.13a (BUG)
Hi, there. Thanx for the update, Peter. That scrolling stuff working...but this time, the information on the artists and the titles are not displayed on the playlist till the song is being played. Is this happening to only me (I am on Win98SE)? At r3mix forum (http://r3mix.net/forum or http://r3mixforum.cjb.net), there is a high-level discussion on the channel coupling implementation on RC1

Winamp plug-in tag editor bug
There is a bug in winamp plug-in tag editor that corrupts files encoded in -b192 mode - these files have trouble with seeking. So get the latest plug-in: http://www.blorp.com/~peter/zips/in_vorbis.exe If some of your files have been messed up by this bug, you have to re-encode them. --- Aleksandar @ Vorbis Xtreme | http://solair.eunet.yu/~aldov Ogg Vorbis is the free, open source alternative

Winamp vorbis crash
Hi! ( I am sending this also to vorbis@xiph.org, because Peters homepage at http://www.blorp.com/~peter/ is ... dead, and I am not sure what his email address is ) I have a ( more than probably corrupt ) ogg/vorbis file that makes winamp lock up. If I drag&drop the file on winamp, the position slider will start flashing at the leftmost position and winamp does not respond to any user input

Difficulty w/1.0 and Sonique/Winamp
I am very excited to see the Vorbis 1.0 out. Unfortunately, neither Sonique 1.808a nor Winamp 2.5 is willing to play the resulting files. Only silence. I tried the simple case of 'oggenc track1.wav' and it created the expected track1.ogg, 3.5MB in size with avg. bitrate of 110kbps at default quality 3. These applications worked fine with a much older version of oggenc. Maybe Beta 2

Winamp support at last!
I've just spotted that the latest version of Winamp (v2.80) has support built in (not requiring the plugin to be installed) at last. At least according the the "new features" section. Winamp Wave Out resampler (was- make lo-fi sound as good as RealAudio?
Shawn sent me a copy of the non-Direct Sound version of this output plugin, and I'm hosting it on my web site's rare software page: http://members.lycos.co.uk/bhafool1/rarities/ I've found it adds far more smoothness and clarity to various low sample-rate audio files, including an 80-minute speech I mentioned previously, due to my soundcard's approach to D-to-A conversion

Problems when using libFLAC to encode 24 bit content
Hi everybody, We have FLAC supported for input/output in REAPER (http://www.reaper.fm), and the problem is that when writing 24 bit FLAC files, the data isn't compressed (i.e. the FLAC is slightly larger than if it was writing to .WAV). The files play back fine, however, and 16 bit mode works great. We're using flac-1.1.2, built on win32 with MSVC6 w/ SP5 + VCPP, and NASM version 0.98.39
