Nullsoft winamp's FLAC plugin
Hi,
Does anybody know if the FLAC plugin of Nullsoft winamp (the one included
with winamp itself, not the one you can download on the FLAC website) uses
the reference FLAC decoder?
thx

What's the purpose of this NSV protocol?
Is it some sort of container protocol that Nullsoft is pushing as some
"standard" in audio webcasting?
I'm trying really hard not to get into a soapbox, but why is it that
the audio streaming community has such a hard-on for so many protocols.
I'm not taking about codecs, I'm talking about ways to get the content

I think what they're trying to do here is not only block non-SCDNAS
servers, but also as many non-Shoutcast sources as they can. Think about
it - if you're streaming MP3Pro without it being NSV-encapsulated, you're
not using a Nullsoft tool to do it.
This kind of one-eyed behaviour will hopefully push people in the direction
of finding alternatives.

...Presumably it still uses HTTP(ish) protocols (i.e.
TCP), but who knows. They reckon it's documented, so I guess you could dig
up more info on it if you wanted to know. but like Oddsock said, why
bother? We should only hope that Xiph get some (any) version of Theora out
for playing with before Nullsoft Video sees the light of day, or we'll know
where everyone's going to go.

Make it shoutcast DNAS compatible, perhaps?
It's true that over the past years NullSoft's decisions re: YP have
been sudden and seemingly arbitrary for a outfit that wants to keep
Internet radio open and free, which is also something which has evolved
past it's cool curiosity status to a commercially viable entity some
time ago.
Internet streaming radio already has too ma...

Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder v1.11a (BUG)
Hello
I'm new to the list. I went through recent archives and didn't find any
mention of this, sorry if this has already been discussed.
When listening to a stream (http://bumpy.braille.uwo.ca:9000/test.ogg)
winamp crashed after a few minutes.
When i tried going back in and went back to the stream it worked for a few
minutes again and crashed.
The times are different (8:27 and 6:20, and

neat, how ironic is it that you can stream mp3pro with the Shoutcast DNAS,
but their YP will not let you list if you do so...talk about your mixed

and I'm all open to any ideas on promoting our own YP directory...

technically, it didn't move, the directory still resides at dir.xiph.org, I
just created a different front end to it (PHP instead of a python).

Simply, it is impossible. I just put the list completely the same context
with the MP3 tag editor with Winamp.

As long as it is category-information string, you can add any thing

Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder v1.13a (BUG)
Hi, there.
Thanx for the update, Peter. That scrolling stuff working...but this
time, the information on the artists and the titles are not displayed
on the playlist till the song is being played. Is this happening to
only me (I am on Win98SE)?
At r3mix forum (http://r3mix.net/forum or http://r3mixforum.cjb.net),
there is a high-level discussion on the channel coupling implementation

AOL/Nullsoft shutting down Shoutcast.com
www.kurthanson.com/news/winamp-and-shoutcast-likely-expire
The only viable alternative is Icecast and dir.xiph.org which could grow
fast after December 20 and become the standard for internet radio in the
future :-)

osx and icecast
I've got two quick q's about icecast. If these two q's have already
been answered, could someone let me know when so I know where to look
in the archives?
Here's the siutation. Macamp has now gone bunk and I need to broadcast
my dj show from my home to a server that has NullSoft shoutcast. The
dj's normally use winamp's shoutcast plugin to broadcast to the
shoutcast server.
Q1) Is ICECAST the program I need to send my signal to another
sever... or is it IceS that i'm looking for?
Q2) If the answer to Q1 is "IceS", can I send my broadcast to a
