First of all, congratulations on the nice job. I downloaded your Debian packages for the libraries and ogg123, but the dependencies are wrong: the stable version of Debian (potato) ships with libc6 version 2.1.3, but your packages require version 2.1.97. The packages can still be installed and the program works, but it is not a smooth process. They are left unconfigured and error messages will pop up at every other package install. The solution is as simple as making the packages in a Debian potato system, or changing the dependencies when building the package elsewhere. They're not extensively tested, but hopefully will be easier than the unstable versions for those using potato. You can download them from http://snow.ashlu.bc.ca/ogg/debian/potato/ directly, or add the following line to /etc/apt/sources.list : deb http://snow.ashlu.bc.ca/ogg/debian potato/ to have them available normally. Please let me know if you discover any issues. -ralph -- giles@ashlu.bc.ca --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'vorbis-dev-request@xiph.org' containing only the word 'unsubscribe' in the body. Hi: AFAIC, the vorbis stuff is officially in Woody. this means that it needs to fit into Woody's dependancy structure. Now, I'm no debian expert, but the debian build information seems to be in the vorbis source. This would then mean that someone wanting an installable deb for potato could create one with the appropriate debian development tools and a copy of the vorbis source.
