How to set a portrait mode screen using i915 driver?
I am trying to setup a portrait mode screen. I can see that in 3.85,
there is an enhancement which allows arbitrary resolutions
(http://git.kernel.org/?p=boot/syslinux/syslinux.git;a=commitdiff;h=5d4ade0221c2387345d0a82422866bb8b937cb09).
Can I use this new feature to achieve setting the portrait mode. What
is the syntax in the config file to set it? Also, is there any other
vesa driver

The immediate future
Hello all:
I am very much enjoying reading this list. It's great to see discussion
(mostly readable by non-vorbis-developer types) on the potential of vorbis
and OGG in general. But I'd like to ask about the immediate future. I am
very keen to adopt OGG vorbis for a number of uses, but I am awaiting a few
things. And I do not wish to pester and hassle those hard at wo...

llvm outlining question
I'm not aware of anything else in LLVM that performs outlining.
Ayal (CCed) may be able to help you regarding CodeExtractor fixes.
Thanks,
Michael

If anyone can suggest a place to get it from, I'd be very greatful.

Xen C6 kernel 4.9.13 and testing 4.9.15 only reboots.
...en more strangely, in addition to the machine I'm talking about which panics and reboots, I had a second nearly identical machine (different CPU/ram config, everything else the same) which booted but had some kind of hw conflict with 4.9.x that I never had before. It appears to be between Intel SCU and an intel PCIe NVMe SSD (luckily I wasn't using SCU, so I disabled that). Had that other machine not booted I would have just assumed 4.9.X was totally broken and sat on 3.18...so I'm glad that one machine booted at least :)
Thanks,

[Fwd: Re: Unable to fix corrupt directories with fsck.ocfs2]
...risk getting a kernel panic when the filesystem suddenly changes if fsck corrects something. I am not aware of any filesystem that can withstand a online fsck. Sun ZFS can do online correction, but it doesnt have a fsck tool.

R package install problem
Dear R-Help,
I would be most grateful if you could inspect the attached install file. I would like to be able to use ShortRead to generate QA reports for Genome Analyzer output data.
OS: Linux CentOS 5.3 on HP Proliant server . In process of installing "R" package after configuration flagging some missing modules-libraries the install process will not perform 'make' function.

Notice for Gentoo Users In Regard to mpg123
Hi there,
After scratching my head for days on why there is horrible white noise in
musiconhold, I finally found out that the latest emerge version of mpg123:
0.59s-r2 is not working well with asterisk. However, if you get the latest
source from mpg123.de mpg123-pre0.59s.tar.gz. Then it works wonderfully.
Just a heads up for the Gentoo admin

Hi folks
This question is about fetchmail running on my Centos 5.3 box.
I need to fetch my email from different accounts living on remote servers and drop it on my local mailbox.
The question is wich way is faster for fetchmail... using POP3 or IMAP?
Thanks
David
