This is rather off topic, but I thought it was worth propagating.
Those of you who've been around long enough may remember stories of an
australian teenager who invented a miraculous video compression
technology, capable of streaming VHS-quality (or was it DVD-quality)
video over a POTS modem line. 5 years ago.
And no, you couldn't see it. We have a demo we'll bring buy, but
that's
all until you buy.
Apparently someone bought earlier this year.
The results of the evaluation they did are now available as part of a
shareholder report. If you thought the miraculous technology might be
the old 'compress n movies in log(n) bits' trick, it seems you are
correct...with VP3 being used to compress the decoder itself. :)
