[syslinux] ONTIMEOUT LOCALBOOT -1 and menu.c32 -
Hi, I am having some problem with LOCALBOOT and menu.c32 This is my isolinux.cfg: ------------------------------------------- default menu.c32 timeout 50 prompt 0 ontimeout local menu title "TITLE" label livecd menu default manu label "LiveCD" kernel gentoo append initrd=initrd.igz root=/dev/ram0 init=/linuxrc looptype=squashfs loop=/ livecd.squashfs dokeymap cdroot vga=791 splash=silent,theme:livecd-2005.1 CONSOLE=/dev/tty1 quiet label local menu label "Boot from harddrive" LOCALBOOT -1 ------------------------------------------- Now if I let it timeout, it just reloads the menu and starts the countdown over again. By choosing "Boot from harddrive" on the menu the systems boots from the harddrive. I also tried with ontimeout LOCALBOOT -1 but this give me the same result. Also LOCALBOOT 0 and LOCALBOOT 0x80 give me the same result, the menu just reloads and the timeout countdown starts all over again. Anyone who can see what I am doing wrong? Mvh Harald Jens?s

[syslinux] ONTIMEOUT LOCALBOOT -1 and menu.c32 -
Hi, Thank you for the replies and discussion regarding booting local harddrive. LOCALBOOT -1 seems to work fine for me. The problem is: This: ontimeout local Does not do the same as selecting the local or "Boot from harddrive" on the menu and pressing ENTER. Is not ontimeout supposed to automatically select the label specified and do the same thing as selecting and pressing enter? [syslinux] ONTIMEOUT LOCALBOOT -1 and menu.c32 -
Forgot to CC the mailing list. Sorry. Hi, Yes, somthing is wrong. :) And it is menu.c32 that cause the problem. If I let menu.c32 laod and count down, it fails. Just reloads the menu and starts a new countdown. If I ESC from the menu to get a prompt and wait until timout it works. If I press TAB and it lists ".localboot -1" and press ENTER it works. If I do not load menu.c32 it also work. If I change "ontimeout" to point to a lable that should load the linux from CD and I get the same result. It is only the combination "ontimeout", "PROMPT 0" and "menu.c32" loaded that fails. I can imagine menu.c32 has it's own timout code? And possibly eaven it's own ontimeout code? I can imagine the problem will be there, and how menu.c32 sends commands back to ISILINUX? I use ISOLINUX 3.11 and the menu.c32 from the syslinux-3.11 package from kernel.org. I also tried with ISOLINUX.BIN and menu.c32 from the syslinux-3.20-pre3 from kernel.org and I get the same problem. Is there any way I can help give more information?
