dendrogram branches with different lty
Dear r-list, I am trying to visually seperate the two main clusters of a dendrogram. The idea is to use: 'edgePar=list(lty=3)' for 'dend1[[1]]' and 'edgePar=list(lty=1)' for 'dend1[[2]]' I have not found a way to solve this. Any suggestions? Patrick hc <- hclust(dist(USArrests), "ave") (dend1 <- as.dendrogram(hc)) par(mfrow=c(2,2)) plot(dend1)

use of color for hclust
Hi, I have a grouping of some observations. I want to cluster them using hierarchical clustering and compare how the hierarchical clustering shows up vis-a-vis the groupings. Is it possible to do this in color? I guess what I am looking for is a way to color the labels of a hierarchical clustering plot using different colors according to the original grouping. Any suggestions? Many thanks and

Putting different colors on labels in plot (hclust)
Hi All R-helpers This is my first (but probartly not last ;-) mail to R-help, so hello to everybody. My problem: Is there a way to give colors to the labels (sample labels) in plots for a hclust object for better visualization? I have looked through plot, points, hclust and more but cannot find anything on label color. Anybody know if this is doable? Best regards Jeppe

coloring agnes plots
Hi all, I am creating dendrograms using agnes and was wondering if it is possible to add color to the leaves (and just the leaves). For example, in the documentation, they have an example using the "votes.repub" data set. If I wanted to make the word "Washington" green (and only Washington), is it possible and if so how? I can apply "summary" to the object

Dendrogram for many cases
Dear All, I have a cluster object based on a dissimilarity matrix from about 1,100 cases and wish to know whether anyone can think of any tips to display some form of graphical output which would give some sense of the similarity between the cases. A standard form of dendrogram would be fine, but with so many cases the dendrogram on the standard devices (R-2.20 on NT4) is very compact

Kate terminal window
Dear R-users, I've recently switched to Ubuntu and I've decided to use Kate to edit my R code. I really like how Kate allows one to simply pipe their code to the terminal. However, I would find it even better if I could actually get the Kate console to display error messages (or any console outputs in fact) in red and my input in a different color. The instance of xterm that Ubuntu

[PATCH] liboggplay - kate support, build fixes, and misc
Hi, I've added kate support to liboggplay (a prerequisite to getting kate tracks to work with the mozilla plugin, which I've now got working on Linux). In addition to the Kate code: - a new oggplay-uninstalled.pc file - configure.ac checks for C++ compiler - no check for fishsound version - it wanted 0.8.0, but the svn itself was 0.7.1 !? - don't use imlib2 (nor dump-first-frame) if

Latest version of kate editor
I have installed the kate editor on Centos 6.7 but it seems to be a very old version, 3.3.4, installed as part of kdesdk. On Centos 7 I can simply run 'yum install kate' but, alas, not on Centos 6. What is the recommended way of updating kate on Centos 6? Thank you.

[PATCH] oggmerge, various

About the media type, my understanding was that text was for actual text, not binary that could be decoded into text. If you think another would be more appropriate, please tell which. If it would be text/x-kate, I'd see

[PATCH] browser_plugin - kate support, build fixes, and misc
Hi, this patch adds: - kate support (what else) - this bumps the Javascript API to 1.1 - a few build fixes (note that the adding of -L/usr/X11/lib -lX11 looks suspect to me, that shouldn't be needed, so you may want to leave it out if you think so as well - it's odd as X11 using programs do configure fine on that box) - bad pointer dereference fix (mouse callback) - avoid the input

using Kate for WebVTT encapsulation
(sending this publicly so the discussion about this is in the open) Hi OggK, all, OggK, you've probably seen that the bug in Firefox for adding Kate support has been closed as WONTFIX: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=481529 I've just posted a reply there mentioning how I envisage in-band WebVTT support to be provided through Kate. I want to ask your opinion. In case you
