Install app_rxfax and app_txfax in 1.4 with Lenny
Hi,
I've read README file in agx-ast-addons-1.4.17.5.tar.bz2
It says "Install libTiff >=3.8 and <4.0"
Should you really use this agx-ast-addons to get app_rxfax and app-_txfax
running with latest 1.4.22 ?
If positive, should you take this libtiff warning into account ?
If positive, where can you find such libtiff version as Debian repository (I
didn't check alternate

Help with biOps loading
I have tried several times to load biOps package after reading the posts in this archive regarding the necessity of placing these two libs in the PATH (libjpeg62.dll and libtiff3.dll). I have tried locating the libs in several directories that should have worked, but I still get the following message.

Patch to allow negative argument in head() and tail()
Dear developeRs (and other abuseRs ;-),
I would like to contribute a patch against functions head() and tail() of
package utils to allow for a negative 'n' argument. This allows to extract
all but the first/last 'n' elements/rows/lines of an object, similar to
the "drop" operator of APL. [1]
I put the patched head.R and head.Rd files, along with diff files in

Data mining tools
Hello there, apologies for cross-posting
my question is not an S/R question but there is so much knowledge
concentrated in those lists that I thought someone could point me in the
right direction.
A few months ago I read an article in a referenced journal comparing some
data mining programs, among which there was Insightful's I Miner, SAS'
Entreprise Miner, SPSS' Clementine (I think)

Changing workspace from within an R session
Hello R-users,
is it possible to navigate from one workspace to the other from within an R

used all the time to navigate between valid Splus directories. I find this
particularly usefull when I develop new

Installing R on 64-bit Solaris 2.8 --- follow-up
Hello R-users,
thanks to Brian Ripley and Roger Peng for there prompt replies on
installing R on a Solaris 64-bit machine. R is now running and seems to be
doing fine. I realy would like to have access to the manuals so I can
climb most of the learning curve on my own -- I am a long time user of
Splus, hence I am not expecting the learning curve to be too steep. On the
Sun machine that R is

May I ask what are the plans for R 2.4.0 packages for (K)Ubuntu? Will
Christian yet again agree to provide packages as he did for 2.3.1?
I will renew my offer to contribute, if needed.
Thanks in advance!
