Can't reach Samba shares from Win XP Pro
This seems to be common enough problem. I've used a variety of methods
(command line as well as utilities like LinNeighborhood) to mount XP
shares on my RedHat 8.0 running Samba 2.2.7. I get consistent problems
the other way around. Despite a couple of shares on my Linux partition,
I am just unable to do get to it. Network Neighborhood shows my
Linux/Samba server but no shares, nor can I

Page() Function Timeout
I'm trying to use a simple page function. It starts a MeetMe conference
with the devices I've listed, but the devices hang up after 3-5 seconds.
After doing some research I found this was a problem, and I needed to
remove a (5) from app_page.c
Well, my app_page.c didn't have the (5). I did make clean; make install
again just in case I had some weird compiled version installed that

be_success misleading
Just wondering if anyone else thinks that ''response.should be_success'' is
potentially misleading. If you''re writing a spec for an action that is
failing in some way it can still have a status 200. So while the
HTTP request was technically successful, something in the action
was not. Perhaps something like ''response.should have_success_status''?

Misleading "Password can change" in pdbedit?
One of our users tried to change his password through Samba and was
told that he was unable to do so. Samba logged the following error:
user john.doe does not have permissions to change password
I checked the Samba source code to see what this error meant, and I
found that it meant that the "password can change" time was set to the
maximum time allowed. However, when I ran pdbedit to

Misleading SCP server error?
(Not a subscriber, please CC me into relevant discussion only)
I'm not sure if it's fixable, but this error message from scp in OpenSSH

Bug#604160: solution found, but vmx flag is misleading
After further investigation:
`xm dmesg' output:
(XEN) CPU0: VMX disabled by BIOS.
(XEN) VMX: failed to initialise.
I tried the following:
- updated to the latest BIOS 2.21 from Lenovo
- reboot and press `ThinkVantage' button
- under CPU, enable VMX
Rebooting into Xen, it still didn't work
After reading about this in search results, I found that many users have
had to do a cold

Along those lines, if someone's adjusting text in there, I'd tend to think
"rolling release" indicates that one
