R binary version for 1.6.2
Hello,
I would like to know where I can find a Windows binary version of R 1.6.2,
since I want to test the last SJava library (which has been built under
1.6.2) which does not work on R 1.7.1
I've already search on the CRAN web site but on the r1070 page, if I click
on 'old', I get an error.
Thanks in advance,
Isabelle

installed properly
See the Note in ?library" (with netCDF package)
Does anybody have the same problems with these packages ?

R crashes with package SJava; was Memory leakage?
Dear all,
Maybe this has something to do with R crashing?
When my R version crashes, there is Rgui.exe still
running in the background (i.e. W2K's task manager
recognises it only as a process, which apparently
is using almost 100% of the CPU).
I can reproduce that by "using" the SJava package
(from Brian Ripley's homepage, as suggested on
http://www.omegahat.org/RSJava/).

loading Sjava
I'm excited about SJava, and I'ld love to get it working, but can't get
past loading the package.

SJava
Hi again!
I'm trying to download SJava from the http://www.omegahat.org/RSJava/
website.
I'm trying to get the binary.
I download the version from BDR's website.
When I unzip the file via unzip.exe, the new folder appears as SJAVA (upper
case).

NetCDF
Buenas tardes,
Para ello he

AW: running Rcmd INSTALL: working now!
I almost didn't believe in it anymore, but Rcmd INSTALL finally is working
for me!
Thanks to all who helped on this, especially to Guido Masarotto, Brian
Ripley, John Fox, Peter Dalgaard, Uwe Ligges.
Anyway, I do think the documentation is a bit confusing here (at least for
me, I don't know if others have felt the same). It might be a good idea to
add the essence of Brians and Guidos

Xgobi
I have been trying to get Xgobi to work with the function xgobi( ), but
I keep on getting the message ""Xgobi requires a filename or some data
from stdin" in the DOS-shell. My Xgobi.bat file is :
@echo off
PATH=c:\windows\
set DISPLAY=195.23.18.11:0.0
set XGOBIDIR=c:/Xgobi3
c:\Xgobi3\xgobi.exe
In R I get:

Xgobi for windows NT
Dear R-Help,
Has anyone gotten Xgobi to work in conjunction with R on a windows NT
platform? About a month ago there was a thread in which Peter Ho gave a set
of instructions on how to do it on windows 95. These instructions worked
perfectly when I tried to follow them on a windows 95 pc, but didn't when
it came to the NT pc on my desk. I'd be very grateful for a set of
instructions of

Xgobi under Windows
Hi,
Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who had replied to my earlier
question of using Xgobi with R under windows. After a little messing around
with the xgobi.bat file, I can now export data from R into Xgobi running on
the free MIX X server.
In summary here is the procedure to make Xgobi work under windows for R:
1) Download the Xgobi for windows executables from Brian Ripley's

xgobi
Hi,
Just started with exploring R. Nice ! (for many years using Splus).
I tried to install and activate the package xgobi.
- first download of xgobi.zip
- then the R-command to install:
install.packages('N:\\d024\\xgobi.zip',CRAN=NULL)
- finally the command to attach the library:
library(xgobi)
Up to now, everything seemed to work. Also the help. No warnings that
