Force backup of files modified outside of puppet's File Type
I''m using the SimpleText recipe and Augeas plugin to modify files in place. I''d like to notify the appropriate File resource that a modification is about to take place so puppet can backup the file. Maybe this is already possible but I haven''t found any examples or documentation on how to accomplish this. I think a natural way to do this would be to use the subscribe

Help with running virt-top from Java file
I've been trying to run virt-top to save the usage statistics to a csv file from my Java code using process builder. However, this gets executed in the Java file but I don't seem to find the file created anywhere. Is executing virt-top possible via a Java code? I'm using the example here<http://forums.devx.com/showthread.php?t=147403>replacing ls -l with virt-top --csv file2.csv.

Nexus - The Jupiter Incident support in wine
There is a community here and a webpage wiki: http://arparso.de/nexus/ Nexus has some support in wine. http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=317 > Nexus: The Jupiter Incident is protected using SafeDisc. Currently, Wine cannot run games off a cd that are protected using SafeDisc. A simple workaround would be to use no cd executables. Can the problems with

Windows 2000 workstations can't open Excel files on Samba-2.2.7(a?) after "ServicePack-ing 4" on them.
Hi, Samba-friends I am not very deep in Samba *file* services, so please bear with me. The network admins of my employer alarmed me (being the local "Linux Guy") with this problem: * they run a 2-node fileserver cluster, based on RedHat (version?) with a Samba version announcing itself "2.2.7-security-rollout" or similar. * Samba runs in a chrooted environment. It was

storing state in cookies using scriptaculous
Hi All, So I''m using scriptaculous in rails to allow opening and closing of messages in a threaded forum without the need for reloading the entire page. What I was wondering was if there was some way to store the state (which messages are open and which are closed) in a cookie or something, so that when the user does reload the page the messages won''t all be reset to their

stable/9: Force ada1 to UDMA-33
Hello, I've got a (P)ATA disk in a special frame. The disk itself supports UDMA-100 (and has an 80-ribbon cable), but the frame isn't compatible with that. By default, FreeBSD negotiates UDMA-100, and the console starts to fill with ICRC errors. In the past, I used a patch to ata-all.c that enabled the following entry in loader.conf to force the disk to UDMA-33, so it worked fine:

Comments on R-1.2.1 builds (PR#851)
The R-1.2.1 builds have gone fairly smoothly on most of my UNIX architectures, but there were many warnings reported by the picky SGI compiler that could be eliminated in future releases. Generally, I have found the SGI compilers very helpful in ferreting out portability problems, unused and/or obsolete variables, unexpected datatype coercions, etc., and they compile faster than any other
