Hi,
I am facing issue with zfs destroy, this takes almost 3 Hours to delete the snapshot of size 150G.
Could you please help me to resolve this issue, why zfs destroy takes this much time.
While taking snapshot, it''s done within few seconds.

ZFS iSCSI (For VirtualBox target) and SMB
Hey all,
I''m setting up a ZFS based fileserver to use both as a shared network drive and separately to have an iSCSI target to be used as the "Hard disk" of a windows based VM runninf on another machine.
I''ve built the machine, installed the OS, created the RAIDZ pool and now have a couple of questions (I''m pretty much new to Solaris by the way but have been

ZFS encryption?? - [Fwd: [osol-announce] SXCE Build 105 available
It was rumored that Nevada build 105 would have ZFS encrypted file
systems integrated into the main source.
In reviewing the Change logs (URL''s below) I did not see anything
mentioned that this had come to pass. Its going to be another week
before I have a chance to play with b105.
Does anyone know specifically if b105 has ZFS encryption?
Thanks,
Jerry

Pool faulted in a bad way
Hello,
I have been asked to take a look at at poll on a old OSOL 2009.06 host. It have been left unattended for a long time and it was found in a FAULTED state. Two of the disks in the raildz2 pool seems to have failed, one have been replaced by a spare, the other one is UNAVAIL. The machine was restarted and the damaged disks was removed to make it possible to access the pool without it hanging

High load when ''zfs send'' to the file
Hello,
when I run ''zfs send'' into the file, system (Ultra Sparc 45) had this load:
# zfs send -R backup/zones at moving_09112009 >
/tank/archive_snapshots/exa_all_zones_09112009.snap
Total: 107 processes, 951 lwps, load averages: 54.95, 59.46, 50.25
Is it normal?

Recovering from kernel panic / reboot cycle importing pool.
Yesterday morning I awoke to alerts from my SAN that one of my OS disks was faulty, FMA said it was in hardware failure. By the time I got to work (1.5 hours after the email) ALL of my pools were in a degraded state, and "tank" my primary pool had kicked in two hot spares because it was so discombobulated.

RFC for new zfs replication tool
Please note: this is a "cross posting" of sorts, from a post I made;
http://groups.google.com/group/comp.unix.solaris/browse_thread/thread/a8bd4aab3918b7a0/528dacb05c970748
It was suggested that I mention it here. so I am doing so.
For convenience, here is mostly a duplicate of what I posted, with a
couple of minor updates.
Please note: I''m not asking for technical help on

Cannot share RW, "Permission Denied" with sharenfs in ZFS
Hi everyone,
I have just installed Solaris and have added a 3x500GB raidz drive array. I am able to use this pool (''tank'') successfully locally, but when I try to share it remotely, I can only read, I cannot execute or write. I didn''t do anything other than the default ''zfs set sharenfs=on tank''... how can I get it so that any allowed user can access

zfs submounts and permissions with autofs
Hi,
Is it expected that if I have filesystem tank/foo and tank/foo/bar
(mounted under /tank) then in order to be able to browse via
/net down into tank/foo/bar I need to have group/other permissions
on /tank/foo open?
# zfs create tank/foo
# zfs create tank/foo/bar
# chown gavinm /tank/foo /tank/foo/bar
# zfs set sharenfs=rw tank/foo
# ls -laR /tank/foo

Activity after LU with ZFS/Zone working
Hy all,
recently I upgraded to S10U8 a T5120 using LU. The system had a zones
configured and at time of upgrade procedure the zones was still alive
and worked fine. The LU procedure was ended successfully. Zones on the
system was installed in a ZFS filesystem. Here the result at the end

The server is attached to the array with a single 4 Gb Fibre Channel link.
I want to make a mirror using ZFS with this array.
I have created 2 volumes on the array

copy complete zpool via zfs send/recv
Hi,
I want to move all the ZFS fs from one pool to another, but I don''t want
to "gain" an extra level in the folder structure on the target pool.
On the source zpool I used zfs snapshot -r tank at moveTank on the root fs
and I got a new snapshot in all sub fs, as expected.
Now, I want to use zfs send -R tank at moveTank | zfs recv targetTank/...
which would place all zfs fs
