GPLPV or other drivers for win2k8r2?
Hi. I have some new 64bit Windows 2008 R2 domU''s running on SLES11/xen_3.4.2. What is everyone using to get 1gb network performance on win2k8? I''ve used GPLPV on win2k3, but I see you have to sign the drivers yourself for 64bit. Maybe that process isn''t difficult, I only glance at the link from gplpv''s page. What is everyone using? GPLPV is about the only

Disabling driver signature enforcement for Windows DomUs
Hi all, After loading the GplPV drivers for Windows Server 2008, I wanted to get rid of the annoying F8 option when rebooting each time. I looked at Ready Driver Plus, which seemed to work, but was only a workaround. It also seemed to kill my terminal connection from Dom0. After some research, I found another way: http://www.ngohq.com/home.php?page=dseo Which will disable driver

gplpv driver signature problem under win2k8_64bit
Hi, I am at a complete loss of ideas here: I have a - xen3.3.1 hypervisor compiled from source with - dom0 being 2.6.26-1-xen-amd64 kernel from debian/lenny repository with - windows 2008 64bit as hvm guest. I use the gplpv drivers 0.10.0.69 from James Harper. The included files (xenpci.sys and xennet.sys) are apparently test-signed, so applying test-signing as boot option does enable

e1000 gig nic howto?
We have a 10Gbps connection to our server so I need to be able to create VMs using the faster e1000 nics instead of the default Realtek 100Mbps ones but I''m not sure how to go about it. Is there a walkthrough or "howto" or can someone point me at some simple instructions? I''m using xen-3.0.3-105.el5_5.5 and Centos 5.5 kernel 2.6.18-194.32.1.el5.centos.plusxen VMs are

GPLPV 0.10.0.69 Blue Screen 0x0000007B
Trying to install them on Xen 3.4.0, Intel E5345 Processors, Server 2008 64bit. I get the BSoD on boot with the 0x0000007B stop message. I''ve got a bunch of 2003 32bits running on the same host with the 0.10.0.69 drivers and those are totally happy. I tried the boot once with NOGPLPV idea mentioned in another thread, that didn''t do the trick. Ideas anyone? pace

2008 GPLPV + Sysprep /generalize
Hello, I''m working on building my master 2008 template. I can run "bcdedit /set testsigning on" and the GPLPV drivers work great - nice work James Harper! I''m a bit new to working with Windows images, but it appears the standard thing to is to run "sysprep /generalize /oobe /shutdown" and then backup the image for later duplication. The problem comes

Using the Xen GPLPV drivers
There seems to be an outdated page to use PV drivers here: http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/XenWindowsGplPv I''d be great if that could be updated. After installing the PV drivers in windows I didn''t notice any difference in performance at all. Windows says the drivers are working. Some more searching and reading and it appears that I do actually need to make some changes to

Windows GPLPV xenvbd.sys BSOD
Hi, During the install of the univention.de-signed GPLPV drivers (gplpv_Vista2008x64_signed_0.11.0.308.msi) on my Windows 7 guest, I get a BSOD "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" in xenvbd.sys. Afterwards, Windows won''t start. I''m now trying to do a System Restore. I will try not installing the VBD driver afterwards and see if the others do work. Full BSOD:

GPLPV drivers update
I have just uploaded a new testing version of GPL PV drivers for Windows. Have a look for 0.10.0.97-dontuse at http://www.meadowcourt.org/downloads (the -dontuse bit is to scare people away who haven''t read this email :) As usual, please test thoroughly on a test DomU and make sure you have a backup before installing on a non-test system. GPLPV Issues on Win2k8 Server
Hello Xen Users, i''m having difficulties installing the latest signed Version of the gplpv drivers for windows. After uninstalling them i had to go to windows setup to import the OS registry and remove the upperfilter stuff that was left, as well as the services and so on. Now once I install them again, the devices (net and pci) show up in the device manager, but windows

GPLPV 0.11.0.238 and Windows 2008 R2 requiring extra reboot
James, I am running Windows 2008 R2 on Xen that is packaged with CentOS 5.4. I installed gplpv_Vista2008x64_0.11.0.238.msi using the falling steps: 1. Turn on testsigning 2. Reboot 3. Install gplpv_Vista2008x64_0.11.0.238.msi 4. Install process requests a reboot at the end. 5. At the end of the subsequent boot, there is a prompt for a reboot again. I

gplpv: re-enabling the nic adapter removes it
I guess I have stumbled upon a bug in gplpv drivers. If you try to re-enable an nic adapter after disabling it, it just hides out of blue. And you have to reboot. Latest version of gplpv drivers and Windows 2008 R2 here. Anyone else noticed the same issue? I wonder if this is related to hot-plugging something like

Bluescreen with Latest GPLPV on Windows Server 2008 R2 on XEN3.4.1
Hi all, my system is a XEN3.4.1 Dom0 Host System with a HVM Windows 2008 R2 machine. After installation of the GPLPV driver ("gplpv_fre_wnet_AMD64_0.10.0.130.msi"), and an Reboot the Windows Server 2008 R2 comes up and ends in a bluescreen, and immediately restarts. Testsigning is ON. What else can be done, or better what needs to be checked? Is there somebody who is facing the same

Unable to remove GPLPV drivers without breaking win2k3 domU
I have a Win2K3 domU (and thankfully an image backup of the LVM volume that holds its system disk) I previously installed GPLPV v0.8.9 drivers, the domU boots OK with or without the /GPLPV switch in boot.ini, however with the /GPLPV switch it tries and fails to use the Xen network driver, and so the machine is network-less, so for the past few months I''ve left it using pure HVM
