Unable to get past Tutorial 1 in RubyOnRails
Unable to get past Tutorial 1 in RubyOnRails On 29 April 2006 I met some one in a Microsoft sponsored developers? community gahering. I was told that ruby on rails is a free software, easy to use, and in no time will have my mind blown with all the wonderful prospects and possibilities. After almost a week, I am still unable to get past tutorial 1 and still unable to make any tutorials work

Happy Sysadmins day!
Hello fellow NUT users and contributors! A lot has happened during the past months, culminating with last Friday of July (Sysadmins' Day) as a reasonable moment to mark a milestone. Sorry, not yet NUT 2.7.5, but with CI make-over to help it happen. As some may know, we were using the public Travis CI offering, and just as that multi-platform setup was nearing perfection (ha-ha) with dozens

We really need more community involvement with GSoC
Hi, Indeed, and I think this suggestion will succeed best if the delta between what community members do now and what they would need to do is small. Loitering on one extra IRC room is trivial; loading a whole new system just at the right time is likely to get fewer members. @James I am not sure in IRC if we can retrieve back the older messages. So consider Slack as suggestion only. *Vivek Pandya* On Sun, Mar 20, 2016 at 6:29 PM, James Molloy <james at jamesmolloy.co.uk> wrote: > Hmm. We really need more community involvement with GSoC
I would like to insist more to use slack.com due to persistent storage of message it can be useful to create 'Minutes of Meeting' kind of thing and later on shared on mailing list so that all community can be aware of that, when some serious discussion has happened during 'office hours'. *Vivek Pandya* On Sun, Mar 20, 2016 at 1:53 AM, Chandler Carruth <chandlerc at

Help: I need community delegates
Hi all, I''m very happy to see how quickly the Puppet community is growing and how pleasant and helpful everyone is. It seems like people are starting to handle a lot of the questions on the email lists and IRC, which is great because it means I can focus more on development and planning. There are a few areas that don''t seem to be meeting the community needs, though,

RFC: Moving toward Discord and Discourse for LLVM's discussions
David, I'm glad you mentioned Discord's T&Cs. I'm not generally concerned about these kinds of things, but Discord's seems particularly aggressive. Particularly the phrase "perpetual, nonexclusive, transferable, royalty-free, sublicensable, and worldwide license" is... a lot. Since LLVM is a permissively licensed project I assume many of our contributors care about

[cfe-dev] RFC: Moving toward Discord and Discourse for LLVM's discussions
There *are* open-source Discord clients, 3rd party tools and the like. The corporation behind Discord is just not authorising you legally to use any of those tools at hand. There are rarely any technical barriers or countermeasures, though. Pending Scenarios
Hi there, newb q: The "pending" support for spec''s and steps is nice. I''m just wondering why a scenario itself can''t be pending? I.e. it seems to me like it would be nice to write up scenario titles for scenarios as you think of them, and for low-priority fringe scenarios leave the steps unwritten until it comes time to implement the scenario? Is there a

I think the idea of dedicated "newbie hour - no question is too basic" drop in sessions is fantastic. +1 for that. *** Asterisk Summer News: The heat is on!
Another issue of Asterisk Summer News, delivered right to your mailbox! Back here in Sweden, it's finally summer weather. Sunshine and some heat. It's good for our ice bears and the snow houses to get some sunshine :-) Asterisk development and IRC chat has gone into a lazy summer mode, but the mailing list is still cooking. It's impossible to keep up with it, for both gurus and
