PPC
Hi All, The only Centos PPC distro that I could find is at: http://vault.centos.org/4.0beta/isos/ppc Is there an official (non-beta) release of Centos 4 (or better yet Centos 5)? If not, are there plans for such a release? Best Mike

FXO/FXS card
Hi, I thought I remember seeing somewhere on the Asterisk website a card that had 16 ports fxo or fxs, that was user selectable with straps on the card. CentOS on IBM Bladecenter HS21
Hello, I have CentOS 5.2 installed on two of the afore-mentioned blades. I've noticed that the OS started to crash lately (kernel panic) and I've been assigned the task to troubleshoot this issue. I would like to know what is the best way of recovering the kernel dump after the OS crashes. I know there are two software implementations that would enable me to do this, kexec and

G4-400mhz enough for CentOS 4.3?
It's that time again. I'm stuck with a bunch of older Powermac G4's that I either need to repurpose or give the heave ho. I've not tried CentOS on Mac hardware before. Would the following config be suitable for a (somewhat slow) workstation? PowerMac G4 400mhz 256mb RAM 40gig ATA disk Some sort of dual-head ATI video setup with 64mb VRAM (I've forgotten which cards they

[OT] linux on a PPC (mac mini)
Hello there, complete off-topic, sorry about this, but my former idea was to install a CentOS on an old mac mini (PPC!). Disappointed to see that PowerPC is not a supported architecture and that non ARM or Intel architecture are not managed by recent distros.. :-(. Searching the web, I see very few possibilities to install a recent (I need gnome2) GNU/Linux distro on such hardware. I gave Linux

ppc questions

With some common sense tweaks, a G4 450Mhz is a very

CentOS 5.1 on PS3
Hi All, Does anyone here on the list have CentOS 5.1 running on a PS3? I would like to look at integrating a couple of PS3 nodes into our cluster for it's ability to use the Cell processor inside and was wondering if anyone had any experiences.

Compilation on PPC/bigendian machine
Hi list! Sometimes I need to make boot floppies for an i386 based Linux router. Just for interest, I tried to use syslinux together with my iMac G4 (PPC) with Yellow Dog Linux to create the floppy. I know that this is generally difficult because it requires cross- compiler and cross-assembler. Nevertheless, I tried it because I only needed the disk installer, the loader binaries for i386

2.6.9-5.0.3 src rpm
I need to make a new driver disk, so I need to install the src.rpm for the initial centos4 install kernel, kernel-2.6.9-5.0.3.EL. However upon browsing around the mirrors, in the 4.0 directories, I find only 2.6.9-11.EL kernels and source? What's going on here -- am I looking in the wrong place? I would expect to see 2.6.9-11.EL in the 4.0/updates directories, not in the 4.0/os. I would

Hi I was just curious as to the status of the centos PPC version? I can't seem to find the download for it. Is it generally on the same track as the other architectures? Or a few versions behind? Power PC with a linux distribution and R
This is an operating system question, but it is with the intent of using R on that operating system. I have an ibook G4 Power PC that I am going to install linux on. Is there a better, worse, or perhaps easier (I am a linux newby migrating from mac) distribution that I should look at. I appreciate your help. I didn't post this in the sig-mac because I don't know if it fits there better
