I need to make a new driver disk, so I need to install the src.rpm for the initial centos4 install kernel, kernel-2.6.9-5.0.3.EL. However upon browsing around the mirrors, in the 4.0 directories, I find only 2.6.9-11.EL kernels and source? What's going on here -- am I looking in the wrong place? I would expect to see 2.6.9-11.EL in the 4.0/updates directories, not in the 4.0/os. I would expect 4.0/os to have the packages that correspond to the initial release. Since there are no src ISO (right?), I can't grab the kernel-2.6.9-5.0.3.EL.src.rpm from there either. Where can I find it? Thanks, --- Jesse <j at lumiere.net>
I managed to find a copy in the 4.0beta/updates directory on beta.centos.org: beta.centos.org/centos/4.0beta/updates/SRPMS/kernel-2.6.9-5.0.3.EL.src.rpm However, the question still remains. Why don't the 4.0/os directories contain the kernel packages (source and binary) for the version installed by the 4.0 ISOs? --- Jesse <j at lumiere.net>

For the older releases you have to check the vault. From: Jesse <j at lumiere.net>> I need to make a new driver disk, so I need to install the src.rpm > for the initial centos4 install kernel, kernel-2.6.9-5.0.3.EL.Actually, if the driver will build against a binary kernel that is installed (which is typically the case with today's binary kernels that include the header and other config files in the run-time), all you need is the "-BOOT" kernel binary installed on your system.>From there, you should be able to build your driver against it.> However upon browsing around the mirrors, in the 4.0 directories, I find > only 2.6.9-11.EL kernels and source?
