Space Rangers 2: Is anyone else playing?
Is anyone else playing (or trying to play) Space Rangers 2 under wine? I'm having some problems with crashing that I can't diagnose and would like to compare notes. I've already contacted the only other AppDB submitter for this game.

Maxon's Cinema4D Net Client debugging messages
Hi, I'm trying to run Maxon's Cinema4D Net Client (a 3D rendering software) with today's CVS-version of wine configured w/o any options, which does not work at all. Other Windows software, such as Puttyor Winzip runs just fine (haven't tried anything else). With the C4D client, without debugging turned on, only a simple "Internal error: String resource not found!" pops

Maybe I did something wrong [Rolling Eyes] This is the situation: I want to play "The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle Earth - The Rise of the Witchking" with wine in a hamachi VPN. Connection problems with Steam games
Hello, I've been having problems trying to run Steam games. The Steam itself takes up a lot of resources even when idle, for some reason, but the games run rather smoothly - in menu that is. Most of the games I have on steam are multiplayer games, and as the topic title suggests, I can't ever get to play them due to problems on connection. When playing Men of War, the game freezes on

Re : Wiki: Howtos/Virtualization/HyperV
Hello Ozy, having used Hyper-V for about two years, ever since it was 'published' in it's pre-release version immediately after release of Windows 2008 Server, I'm very glad you found the time to write a Wiki article on the issue. I remember the time drifts in particular, and wasting two whole days troubleshooting the problem until I finally got it resolved - and at that

playing with Wine on Cygwin
I'm currently playing with Wine on Cygwin on Windows 2000 on VirtualBox. Just to see what happens. Also to see how feasible Wine on Windows is from here. I've been updating the http://wiki.winehq.org/CygwinSupport page accordingly. With the 1.1.11 source tarball, I'm getting a compile error: internettransport.c:348: error:

A plethora of problems related to crashes and drawing in AOM
A plethora of problems related to crashes and drawing in the game Age of Mythology Gold. A few of these problems didn't exist in earlier versions of wine. I haven't filed any of these as bug reports but wanted to put what I did find here so I wouldn't lose it. You need mfc42.dll in your System32 directory and you need AOM Gold NoCD patch 1.03 English (aomx.exe) to be able to play this

Lag when playing freeware games
I switched to Linux recently and one of the biggest things I miss from Windows are freeware games such as Spelunky or Desktop Dungeons. So, I got Wine and downloaded those games, thinking they should run great and I'll be happy in Linux-Land. The problem is they lag an ungodly amount, making them unplayable. Spelunky is a lot worse than Desktop Dungeons, which I guess I could suffer through,

Is anyone already working on RPMs for VirtualBox OSE?
I have some RPMs I've made of innotek's VirtualBox OSE (Open Source Edition) for both CentOS 4 and CentOS 5 (i386). These RPMs include the dkms support for the kernel driver, etc. I have a couple of subtle things to fix in the RPMs (like setting the permissions on udev devices, etc.) but they're already usable. Before I spend more time on it, and submit it for inclusion in the

broken controls in "Captain Claw" game
Hi. I want to play the old '97 game "Claw". It installs and runs, but strangly I can't jump in it! No matter what I use, keyboard or gamepad. Normally, if you tap the spacebar, the character makes a low jump; if you hold the spacebar, he makes a high jump. However, under wine all jumps are low. Other movements work fine though. I even tried to run the game under winxp guest in

Home LAN server - dnsmasq
Hello all, I'm testing a home LAN server inside Virtualbox - figured it'd be easier to build (and fix) things inside a virtual sandbox first, and then migrate over to a physical install once I have most of the kinks worked out. The host OS is Windows Vista; the guest OS will be various Linux distributions for education/entertainment purposes. First, a little explanation on the

Does anyone know how to get clipboard and mouse integration in Centos vm?
Hi, I am running a Centos 7 vm under FreeBSD, and it works very well now, with KDE installed from DVD iso. But there's a couple of things missing, which happens only with Centos vm (Virtualbox): 1) Despite clipboard sharing enabled, copy-paste just does not work between host and guest 2) Mouse integration does not work. So I have to repeatedly capture mouse manually both in the host
